Week 1 An All Around Bust

I wish I could say that this week was the best week ever. That I ran 35 miles and had no problems. This week had other plans, my body was exhausted from 22 plus hours on a photo shoot Monday, and Wednesday. The blistering heat on Monday gave me some bad stomach problems on Tuesday that made a 6-mile run impossible due to the amount of pain I was in and the mess I feared I would make.

So when Thursday rolled around my muscles were basically jello, my mind was shot, and I was physically and mentally exhausted. I pushed myself to go run a little with my dog, but a downpour put my run to an end at 1.2 miles. On Friday I decided to give up on the week and start fresh on Sunday.

So where to go from here?

Back to the beginning. I know I have to keep pushing. Weeks like this happen it’s just disappointing that this happened in my first week. So tomorrow I’m running approx. 8 miles and Sunday I’ll run 4. I’ll take my schedule from week 1 and get my miles in.

Something I have learned in the last year is to live life no matter what is going on. Work is not more important than my personal goals but sometimes things happen, and you have to roll with it. Even though it cut into my own time, I was able to work with some amazing people and see some excellent content be created. Plus who doesn’t love hanging out in Badlands National Park?

My goal moving forward?

To do every mile every week no excuses. This week might have been a bust, but the rest will be filled with determination and the finish line in my line of vision.
